Building Information Modeling, shortly BIM, is program providing work with digital model of future buildings including all important information about all construction elements.

Big advantage is possibility of mutual cooperation. Earlier 2D documentations, worked up by form of DWG design, used to be divided into many individual files, which were not connected one to another and there was no way that more than one person could work on same segment. Practically all designers had to wait until the other designer had finished his work, safely close it and then allows to others to continue their work. In case of revisions and reviews there were created other versions of the same file and clarity of documentation was lost.

All these problems are removed by documentation generated directly from BIM, where is possibility to share data and cooperate with others on the same problem at the same time. All BIM models (architectural, static and models of technical safety) are placed on one common repository (one actual source of truth data) and access to them from anywhere.

That is also advantage for investors in a chance to view actual state of designing and choose the best co-workers anywhere in the world and these works can not be stopped by unexpected events as is for example nowadays pandemic of Coronavirus.

Co-workers do not meet in offices, but they keep meeting on their models of construction in BIM program and finishing established terms are kept. Due to actual situation Autodesk company offered their cloud environment for cooperation with BIM360, which keeps all history of communication.
